The weather is starting to get cooler here in Winnipeg, Canada. Headbands are the perfect transition accessory for those cooler mornings. This pattern is super quick and easy, perfect for beginners.
Materials
- US H (5mm) hook
- 1 x Sugar Bush Yarns Crisp (100% merino wool, DK #3, 95 yards per skein)
- approx. 90 yds for this project
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- yoslst = yarn over slip stitch
Notes
- pattern in US terms
- gauge: 4” x 4” = 20 sts x 16 rows
- finished size: adult – approx. 7″ x 5″ laying flat
- each stitch is worked into the back loop of the previous rows stitch
Special Stitches
yoslst: yarn over slip stitch
yo, insert into st, pull up a loop, pull through all loops on hook
Pattern
To Start: ch 26
Row 1: yoslst in second ch from hook and in each st across, turn (25 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, yoslst in the back loop of each st, turn (25 sts)
Row 3- 57: repeat row 2
Cut yarn leaving a 10” tail.
Seaming
Fold in half so ends meet
Sl st in the back loop of the front piece and in the front loop of the back piece across
Fold/pinch the seam
Start wrapping the left-over yarn tail around the folded seam approx. 4-5 times
Cut yarn, fasten, weave in ends
