I adapted this crocheted makeup bag from a larger version I spotted on Pinterest. It’s the perfect accessory for your purse to keep your makeup or small items together.




Materials
US D (3.25mm) hook
2 x Patons Grace (100% mercerized cotton, light weight, 136 yards per skein)
2″ button
stitch marker
Abbreviations
ch = chain
ch sp = chain space
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch(es)
sk = skip
sc = single crochet
Notes
pattern in US terms
pattern is worked in continuous rounds, use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round to keep track
finished size: approx. 9″ tall (unfolded) x 6″ wide (laying flat)
Pattern
To Start: magic circle
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring, do not join (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st (12 sts)
Round 3: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (18 sts)
Round 4: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (24 sts)
Round 5: 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (30 sts)
Round 6: 1 sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (36 sts)
Round 7: 1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (42 sts)
Round 8: 1 sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (48 sts)
Round 9: 1 sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (54 sts)
Round 10: 1 sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (60 sts)
Round 11: 1 sc in next 9 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (66 sts)
Round 12: 1 sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat around (72 sts)
Round 13 – 50: 1 sc in each st around (72 sts)
Round 51: 1 sc in next 13 sts, ch 9, sk 9 sts, 1 sc in next 27 sts, ch 9, sk 9 sts, 1 sc in next 14
Round 52: 1 sc in each st till ch sp, 9 sc in ch sp, sc till next ch sp, 9 sc in ch sp, sc around
Round 53 – 59: 1 sc in each st around (72 sts)
Round 60: sl st around (72 sts)
To Finish: Fasten off, weave in ends.
Attached button approx. 2″ – 2.5″ below button hole.
