I first learn to knit when I was a kid. It never really stuck, but ever since I’ve been emerged in crochet I have always wanted to jump back into knitting and make myself a toque.
So here comes the Tag Toque! A very simple and easy pattern using the very simple stockinette stitch with a nice wide ribbed band.
- US 13 (9.0 mm) 16″ circular needles
- US 15 (10.0 mm) 16″ circular needles
- large faux fur pom pom (these ones are gorgeous)
- yarn needle
- stitch marker
- 1 x Loops & Threads Woolike Chunky (85% acrylic 15% nylon, bulky, 94 yards per skein)
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- k = knit
- p = purl
- k2tog = knit 2 together
- pattern in US terms
- finished size: 7.5″ wide x 9.5″ tall
Using 9.0 mm circular needles, cast on 40 sts using the long tail cast on method
Round 1 – 10: k1, p1, repeat around (place a stitch marker at the beginning of each round to keep track)
Switch to 10.0 mm circular needles
Round 11 – 28: knit around
Round 29: k2tog, k8, repeat around
Round 30: knit around
Round 31: k2tog, k7, repeat around
