Gotta love a easy one skein project!
I designed this beanie with Universal Uptown Worsted yarn in mind, it’s a super soft worsted weight that is very easy to work with. You will hold two stands of yarn together throughout the project. Alternatively you can use a bulky weight yarn as well.
- US 10 (6.0 mm) 16″ circular needles
- yarn needle
- stitch marker
- 1 x Universal Uptown Worsted (100% acrylic, worsted, 180 yards per skein)
- approx. 170 yards for this project
- note: you will hold 2 strands together throughout
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- k = knit
- p = purl
- k2tog = knit 2 together
- p2tog = purl 2 together
- pattern in US terms
- finished size: 8.5″ wide x 9″ tall
To Start: Holding 2 strands of yarn together, cast on 60 sts using the long tail cast on method
Round 1 – 10: k1, p1, repeat around (place a stitch marker at the beginning of each round to keep track)
Round 11 – 12: *p1, k1. *repeat around.
Round 13 – 14: *k1, p1. *repeat around.
Round 15 – 42: repeat rounds 11 – 14.
Round 43: *(p1, k1) for 8 sts, p2tog, k2tog. *repeat around.
Round 44: *p1, k1. *repeat around.
Round 45: *(k1, p1) for 6 sts, k2tog, p2tog. *repeat around.
Round 46: *k1, p1. *repeat around.
Round 47: *k1, k2tog. *repeat around.
To Finish: Cut yarn leaving an 8″ tail. Weave in tail through all stitches and cinch. Fasten and weave in ends.
